Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Arkvidya ( https://www.arkvidya.in), including the Android app package com.arkvidya.app, handles information when you use our learning platform.

1. Information we collect

• Account data: email address, display name, role (student or admin), optional phone number, class, section, and school name when provided by an administrator.
• Authentication data: a hashed password (we do not store plaintext passwords) and session cookies required to keep you signed in.
• Preferences: theme, density, and other UI preferences you save in Settings.
• Learning access: which batches and materials your account is enrolled to view.
• Admin Google Drive connection (admins only): Google account email and encrypted OAuth tokens used solely to upload and manage study files in the admin's Drive. Students do not connect Google accounts through the app.
• Audit logs (admins / operations): records of administrative actions for security and accountability.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking in the Android app.

2. How we use information

• Authenticate users and protect accounts
• Provide courses, batches, study materials, videos, quizzes, and current affairs
• Remember theme and accessibility preferences
• Let admins manage content via Google Drive when connected
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations

3. Cookies and local storage

We use essential session cookies for sign-in. Theme and similar preferences may be stored locally on your device. These are required for the service to function and are not used for advertising.

4. Sharing

We share data only when needed to operate the service:

• Hosting / database providers that store application data under our instruction
• Google when an admin connects Drive (OAuth tokens and Drive file operations for that admin)
• Authorities if required by law or to protect users and the platform

5. Retention

Account data is kept while the account is active. Administrators may delete or deactivate accounts. Session cookies expire according to your sign-in choice. Encrypted Google tokens are removed when an admin disconnects Drive.

6. Security

Passwords are hashed. Admin Google refresh tokens are encrypted at rest. Access to admin tools is role-restricted. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we take reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to an education platform.

7. Children

Arkvidya is an education platform that may be used by students under 18 with school or parent involvement. We do not knowingly collect more personal data than needed for learning access. Guardians or schools who manage accounts may contact us to correct or delete a student account.

8. Your choices

• Update preferences in Settings while signed in
• Request account correction or deletion by contacting us
• Admins can disconnect Google Drive from admin settings

9. Android app (Trusted Web Activity)

The Play Store app opens the same secure website in a Trusted Web Activity. It does not add separate native tracking. Digital Asset Links verify the link between com.arkvidya.app and https://www.arkvidya.in.
